- Jill BMy husband’s aunt recommended we visit while we were in Roan Mountain so we had to stop by with all the kids. Unfortunately we didn’t know when candle making classes were but the owners were able to do a special class for us since we had 6 girls hoping to make candles. They told them about the history of Banner Ell which I found interesting (the kids didn’t remember all of it) and some of the names of the scents. All of the ingredients (soy based wax and scents) were all natural and didn’t bother my allergies or nose so that was a huge bonus. All the girls had fun, my youngest was SO excited they had an elephant vessel she could use to make a candle! We would definitely recommend stopping by to visit when you’re in the area. Everyone was super nice and all the girls from ages 7-17 had fun! (Adults could also join in if they wanted of course, but we sat back and let the girls do it this time. FYI the prices seemed to range from $38-45 per person for the candles they made which...
- Donnie CFirst time visiting this little gem! My wife loves candles and this little shop has many varieties to choose from. We preferred the candles made in-house as the scents were more unique to us. The lady that helped us was super friendly and provided details we would have never known about candles otherwise. If you like candles or soap this is definitely the place worth visiting.
- Mercedes SWe went to a candle pouring class this past Thursday and had such a great time! We made friends with others taking this class and had fun picking out scents and measuring everything. It is definitely worth the money to see how natural your candle is that you are making. It dries quickly and can be picked up within a few hours. When you use all the candle, you are left with a vessel that can serve a whole other purpose. Additionally, the owners, Don & Kathy, are some of the most warm-hearted people we met on our trip. It felt like we could talk to them for hours. We also bought soaps that are made with all natural ingredients. We definitely recommend stopping by here & taking a class!
